The horses are fed twice a day, approximately 12 hours apart. On the average (more or less depending on the
individual horse’s needs), horses are fed 3 lbs. of grain and 10 lbs. of hay at each feeding. The grain is
13% protein. The alfalfa/orchardgrass hay is about 30% alfalfa. Grass hay is available upon request. Please
see the home page for further details on the hay and grain. The horses are watered two to three times a day (more
often in the warmer months). The buckets are scrubbed and chloroxed on a weekly basis. There is no charge to
feed supplements provided they are in individual feedings at the stall. The condition of the horses at Walker
Training Stables reflects the excellent balanced nutrition of the horses.
